Bridge the Gap Training and Consultancy (BTG) was created and developed by Deb and Rob in 2008, who hold a passion and desire to work in the Health and Community Services sector. With their passion and beliefs Deb and Rob are commmitted and dedicated to enhancing clients' quality of life living within our communities by utlising their many years of experience working in the sector.
BTG offers a range of training programs, mentoring, coaching, consultancy and professional development workshops which can be customised to suit your organisation. BTG training programs consists of numerous soft skills, work health and safety and professional development courses. BTG has also incorporated within their programs leadership and motivational strategies, cultural behaviour, safety capabilities tools and a variety of resources to suit each program.
BTG now offers e-Learning modules which is a whole new way to access our training online. We offer a range of Work Health Safety, Professional Development risk based e-Learning training modules to assist all workers in acquiring the skills necessary to ensure a safe workplace for all. Training managers, workers, volunteers and board members via e-Learning will provide your organisation with an immediate improvement in skills transfer and a reduction in overall training costs.
Their consultancy service can assist your organisation in areas such as safety management systems, including auditing, injury management and return to work programs, workers compensation claims review, incident investigations, positive approach to behaviour support, policy and procedures reviews, enhancing safety culture, building team spirit, supportive leadership, and prevention of and support of psychological injury sustained by workers.
Return To Work Coordinators' Support Intrest Group
In 2010 BTG created and facilitate the Hunter/Central Coast RTW Coordinator Support Interest Group to assist Health and Community Services sector RTW Coordinators and their managers to enhance their skills and expertise in rehabilitating and supporting injured workers to return to work safely. There are currently up to 15 members who attend quarterly meetings for a period of 2 hours.
Robert Watson holds a Diploma in Social Welfare and has undertaken numerous managerial positions and developed extensive risk management skills over thirty years working in the health and community service sector.
Robert is an approved trainer for SafeWork NSW Health Safety Representative (HSR) training, as well as a WorkCover NSW Accredited Return-To-Work Coordinator and OHS Consultation Representative. Robert’s qualifications include Diploma in Training and Assessment (TAA40104), Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management), Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, and a Level 1 Fire Safety Officer training certificate.
Robert used his skills and expertise to help the relief effort in the wake of a NSW state-declared disaster, and was later awarded a NSW State Medal in official recognition of the excellent service and support he provided.

Deborah Wood holds SafeWork NSW approval to train their approved training course for Health Safety Representative (HSR) training and State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) approval to train their approved training course 'Introduction in Return-To-Work Coordination'. Deborah was awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Risk Management, and she is a qualified auditor in Safety Management Systems. Deborah has worked in the field of Work Health and Safety for the past twenty years, and her qualifications also includes the Diploma in Training and Assessment (TAA40104).
Deborah and her colleagues at a large government agency received a Treasury Management Fund Award for Injury Management; and whilst working for another agency, Deborah herself received a NSW Premier’s Award for Improvement to Corporate Services Efficiency.
