This module is to assist workers, participants, and any other person to protect from harm as a result of exposure to waste, Infectious or hazardous sustenance’s generated during the delivery of service and support.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  1. Gain a further knowledge of the importance of household waste is disposed of correctly and in an effective manner.

  2. Develop an understanding the importance to utilise local council recycling, garden waste, house waste and arrangement of street pick up waste as a resource; and

  3. Development a systematic approach towards identifying, managing, and minimising exposure to sources of infection risks and implement suitable controls.

The program is divided up into 8 units. They include:

Unit 1 – 3 main groups of waste.

Unit 2 - Common ways infections spread include.

Unit 3 - Cleaning practices.

Unit 4 - General cleaning principles.

Unit 5 - Standard precautions to hazardous control and management of waste.

Unit 6 - Council Waste Management.

unit 7 - Hazardous Substances.

Unit 8 - Emergency Response and Procedures.
