Health and Safety Committee training (3 day course) has been specifically designed and developed to skill up Health Safety Committee members to function well and assist your business in developing and or enhancing a positive pro-active safety culture to ensure everyone’s safety in the workplace.

Session 1 (Day 1) WHS Awareness

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants on successful completion of this program will:

  • Develop an understanding of Work, Health, Safety Act 2011 and the associated Regulations and Codes of Practice;
  • Develop an understanding of PCBUs “Primary Duty of Care” and what they need to do to ensure compliance;
  • Develop an understanding of PCBU’s Officers positive duty to work with “Due Diligence”;
  • Develop an understanding of the term “Reasonably Practicable” and what they need to do to ensure that their managers, supervisors, coordinators and team leaders are working within this definition;
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of consultation, coordination and cooperation and of the issue resolution process for your business; and
  • Develop an understanding of the financial consequences for non-compliance.

Session 2 (Day 2) WHS Risk Management

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants on successful completion of this program will:

  • Describe the key elements of WHS Risk Management;
  • Explain the importance of a pro-active approach vs reactive to risk management;
  • Explain the process for identifying hazards and incidents in the workplace to your supervisors;
  • Describe the process of risk assessment;
  • Identify the steps for controlling and monitoring risks; and
  • Identify workers, officers and PCBU responsibilities in relation to risk management, WHS consultation and hazard and incident reporting.

Session 3 (Day 3) WHS Committee Training

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants on successful completion of this program will:

  • Identify what is the purpose of a Health Safety Committee;
  • Develop an understanding of the function of the Health Safety Committee and members;
  • Develop a Term of Reference to support your committee;
  • Develop an understanding of the Codes of Practice and their relevance to your business and risk management systems; and
  • Look at what makes a Health Safety Committee work well to achieve positive safety outcomes for all.

TARGET GROUP: This training course is suitable for all members of your Health Safety Committee, Safety Awareness groups or other “Agreed Arrangements” groups, meetings or forums.

FACILITATOR:Robert has experience in community programs, risk management, injury management and has incorporated his extensive skills into this program which will further strengthen the learning outcomes for all participants. Rob is also an approved training provider by SafeWork NSW and a qualified assessor and trainer.
